With everything going on with the Coronavirus pandemic it only seems right that I do a zombie movie post.
I absolutely love a good zombie movie!
I don’t know why but I seem to have a slightly unhealthy obsession with the whole zombie apocalypse scenario. I think it’s the idea of life as we know it just stopping, and forcing humanity to go back to basics with life becoming about little more than survival. It just sounds appealing.
With that in mind, pictured above are my favourite zombie/“infection” movies.
I’m sure I’ll be asked why World War Z (2013) isn’t on my list, and I imagine some of you are wondering why the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead is there and not the original 1978 version (read my Dawn of the Dead “Original vs Remake” post for the answer to that question). As for World War Z, I liked it but it just didn’t make the cut.
I’d like to give a mention to two other zombie films not included in my list:
Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (2015) and Life After Beth (2014).
Both are zombie comedies and well worth a watch.
If we do end up going on lockdown at some point, this is how I'll be passing time.
How many of these have you seen and what zombie movies would be on your list of favourites? 🤔🧟♂️
