One of my biggest issues with the last Star Wars trilogy was how Rey had no heroic journey to becoming a Jedi.
Luke spent almost an entire film training with Yoda and still didn’t complete his training. We saw him go from a young boy living and working on a moisture farm (whatever that is) to becoming a powerful Jedi over the course of the original three films. Rey had virtually no character progression over all three movies and was pretty much the same in the last film as she was in the first!
I love how this video by TikTok user @echobischoff addresses some of the forced-in (pun intended) silliness that appears in The Rise of Skywalker.
