Unhinged (2020)

I watched a really good film last night.

Unhinged (2020)

I’ve wanted to watch this movie for a while now. I remember reading last year during the first lockdown that it was going to be the first film released in cinemas since they all closed due to the pandemic. It was referred to as “the canary in the coal mine for an entertainment industry looking to reopen.”

It’s really good!

If you haven’t seen it, it’s a psychological thriller starring Russell Crowe (Gladiator) and Caren Pistorius (Mortal Engines) among others.

This is what it’s about:

After an altercation with an unstable man at an intersection, a woman and everyone she loves suddenly becomes the target of his rage.

Russell Crowe is really good in this movie!

It might be a familiar concept that feels similar to films like Duel (1971) and The Hitcher (1986) but it’s by no means the same. It takes a lot of the elements that made those films so good and adds some 21st century ingredients to the mix.

It’s available to rent on Sky Cinema (UK), Amazon Prime and I’m sure it must be streaming elsewhere too.

Give it a watch.

Seen it? What do you think?
