Train to Busan (2016)

Last night I watched a movie recommended to me months ago then again a few days ago by a friend of mine. It’s the Korean zombie film:

Train To Busan (2016)

Now I love a good Zombie flick but I’ll admit I’m a bit ignorant when it comes to foreign films where I’m required to read subtitles to know what’s going on, (what can I say? I’m lazy).

Well, I loved it!

The story centres around a businessman/father accompanying his young daughter by train to visit her mother in Busan, South Korea. But when an injured woman fleeing from something unseen makes it onto the train just before the doors close, the passengers soon find themselves in a fight for survival against the undead, and each other.

This film feels very real!

As much as I love a big budget Hollywood movie, they do all tend to have a similar feel and format. This doesn’t have that. It feels very fresh and different to other movies of the same genre. I didn’t know who was going to survive and who wasn’t.

It almost felt at times like it was all actually happening and that I wasn’t watching a film at all.

As well as having a good straight forward but engaging story, it’s well acted and there are some striking visuals!

I highly recommend this film if you like a decent zombie horror and aren’t as lazy as me when it comes to subtitles (hey, if I can do it, anyone can). 👍🧟
