A couple of weeks ago my fiancée put a film on that I had no interest in watching whatsoever.
At the time, I was busy copying my posts over to the new website (a very time consuming but strangely enjoyable process) so I wasn’t really fussed about watching anything.
As it happens I found myself glancing up occasionally until I was fully won over and I ended up watching the film.
It’s called: The Choice (2016)
If you haven’t seen it, it’s a romantic drama starring Benjamin Walker (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) and this is what it’s about according to google:
Travis Shaw (Walker) is a ladies' man who thinks a serious relationship would cramp his easygoing lifestyle. Gabby Holland (Palmer) is a feisty medical student who's preparing to settle down with her long-term boyfriend.
Fate brings the two together as Gabby moves next door to Travis, sparking an irresistible attraction that upends both of their lives.
As their bond grows, the unlikely couple must decide how far they're willing to go to keep the hope of love alive.
The film is based on the novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook) and features a decent supporting cast of actors such as Tom Wilkinson (Batman Begins), Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas) and Tom Welling (Smallville).
It may be a bit formulaic (aren’t they all?) but I’ve told you before that I like a bit of romance and this has a decent amount. The chemistry between the actors is also really believable which is one of things that drew me in.
This film won’t be for everyone, but if like me you’re a bit of a sucker for a good love story, you should give it a look. 👍
I watched it on Sky but have just noticed it’s only available to buy and keep now. It’s available to rent on Amazon Prime for £3.49 though.
P.S. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012) is way better than it sounds and I’ll be doing a post on it in the near future. 👌
Have you seen or read The Choice? If so, let me know your thoughts.👇
