Before Kurt Russell played iconic characters like MacReady in The Thing (1982), or the infamous Snake Plissken in Escape from New York (1981) he was a child actor. Throughout the 1970’s he was Disney’s “top star” appearing in several of their films and TV shows.
His first film role, although uncredited was at the age of 10 (at the time of shooting) in It Happened at the World’s Fair (1963). In the movie he plays a kid who Elvis pays a quarter to run up and kick him in the shin in order to get the attention of a girl (a nurse).
Ironically, Russell would go on to play Elvis in the TV movie Elvis (1979). He also played an Elvis impersonator in 3000 Miles to Graceland (2001) and even provided the voice of “the King” in Forrest Gump (1994).
Here he is in action. 🥾
