Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)

So last night I finished work, rushed home, made myself a cup of tea and sat down to watch the second of the Harry Potter movies:

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)

I’m pleased to report that I really enjoyed this one too!

I’m genuinely surprised at how much I’m getting into these films! For years I’ve avoided them thinking they’re kids films and that they’re “not my kind of thing” but I’ve got to say, so far so good!

Straight away I noticed how much older the main child actors looked and sounded. I was quite surprised considering there’s only a year between the first film and this one.

My two favourite characters were Kenneth Branagh’s Gilderoy Lockhart and Moaning Myrtle played by Shirley Henderson. She reminded me of Carol Kane’s Ghost of Christmas Present from Scrooged (1988) at one point. 😆

It’s hard to say which I prefer out of the two films I’ve seen so far, but as much as I enjoyed this one I think The Philosopher’s Stone just about gets it.

P.S. Best line in the film:

Ron: “Hold on!”

Harry: “I’m trying...Your hand’s all sweaty!” 😂
