Another Saturday in lockdown so another afternoon on the sofa watching films.
I just watched a film I’ve been meaning to do a post about for a while.
Game Night (2018)
This is such a great movie and I’ve seen it a few times now.
If you haven’t seen it, it’s a hilarious and clever comedy starring Jason Bateman (Horrible Bosses), Rachel MacAdams (Wedding Crashers) and Kyle Chandler (Super 8) among others.
This is what it’s about according to IMDb:
A group of friends who meet regularly for game nights find themselves entangled in a real-life mystery when the shady brother of one of them is seemingly kidnapped by dangerous gangsters.
What’s so funny about it is that they all think it’s part of the elaborate game the brother (Kyle Chandler) has invited them to play.
The whole cast of this movie is brilliant, especially Gary, the odd and awkward neighbour played by Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad). All the characters are really well written and even the occasional scene traditions are geniusly filmed in a way that makes everything look like miniature pieces on a board game.
If you’re looking for something to watch tonight and fancy a highly entertaining film with a decent amount of laughs, you should definitely check this one out. It’s streaming on Netflix now.
Seen it? What do you think? 🤔
