Today’s notable composer is Vangelis.
Vangelis’s unique style and instantly recognisable electronic sound has won him an academy award.
He’s famous for his use of synthesisers and other electronic instruments in his music.
Notable works include: Chariots of Fire (1981) for which he won an academy award for best original score, Blade Runner (1982), The Bounty (1984) and Alexander (2004).
My favourite score of his has to be Blade Runner! I love that film anyway, and the music really backs up the eerie, dark and futuristic tone of the film.
