Currently watching: Three Amigos (1986) on Film 4.

I haven’t seen this film for ages but it’s hilarious!

If you haven’t seen it, it stars three of the 1980s best comedy actors in their prime: Steve Martin (Father of the Bride), Chevy Chase (National Lampoon’s Vacation) and Martin Short (Inner Space).

This is what it’s about:

Three silent film stars are mistaken for real hero’s by the people of a small Mexican town that’s being terrorised by a local bandit and his gang. They must decide whether to flee with their lives or help the people and live up to their on-screen reputations.

Directed by John Landis (Trading Places) and written by Steve Martin, Lorn Michaels (creator of Saturday Night Live) and Randy Newman (of Toy Story’s “You’ve got a friend in me” fame) this is easily one of the best comedies the 80s produced! 👌
