Currently watching: I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) and as much as I like this film for nostalgic reasons, I’m getting increasingly frustrated by all of the stereotypical horror scenarios and characters.
I think I’m just getting old coz I never used to pick films apart like I do now but come on!
Sarah Michelle Gellar has just proved that she can out-run the killer (she is Buffy the Vampire Slayer after all), but decides to take “refuge” in the shop where she works where he can easily gain access and dispatch her AND her sister (who the film has made unlikable so we have no sympathy for).
If she’d carried on running while the killer walked “intently” after, yet too slow to catch her, she would’ve lost him in no time regardless of whether she’d been doing the couch to 5k program. 😳
As for Ryan Phillippe - you know those actors you just can’t stand no matter how many films you see them in? He’s one of those for me. Every time I watch this movie I can’t wait for him to get killed! 😵😵
